Volumetric surveys

On many construction projects the value of earthworks can form a significant part of the contract. Therefore, it is prudent to have accurate quantities before and during the construction phase of the project.

Before construction begins we can compare the proposed design to the existing ground surface and if available the borehole and trial pit logs (from the site investigation) to calculate accurate quantities of surface and sub-surface strata. A cut / fill balance of the site can be undertaken to minimise the risk and cost of importing or removing materials.

Volumetric surveys can also be applied to stockpiles, quarries, landfill, open excavations and backfilled areas to accurately quantify the cut and fill volumes.

This analysis can be delivered to the client as a stand-alone document or embedded into a drawing as text with long / cross sections and isopachite contours to visually describe the cut and fill areas.
